Peak 5 Capital was founded by Ivan Yee, who has over 28 years of experience investing in commercial real estate through multiple cycles.

Prior to founding Peak 5, Ivan was a Managing Director at Fortress Investment Group for over 16 years, where he was responsible for sourcing and executing commercial real estate debt and equity investments. He had a primary role in leading the team that created and ran Fortress' cash-flowing commercial real estate loan program — focused on stabilized, value-add, and transitional loans.

Across his career, Ivan has originated more than $12.0 billion in commercial real estate debt and equity investments across all property types, with experience purchasing and financing assets through long-standing relationships, brokered processes, special servicers, banks, auctions, and bankruptcy court.

Earlier career

Prior to joining Fortress, Ivan opened and headed the Chicago office for Morgan Stanley's CMBS group. He was also a Managing Director for RBS Greenwich Capital and worked for Nomura Asset Capital Corporation in its Large Loan Group. He received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan.

Beyond real estate

In addition to his real estate investing, Ivan was Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Fortress-controlled TSX Entertainment, a revenue-generating company built from the ground up with over 25 employees, more than one million app downloads, and six CLIO awards in its first year of operations in 2023. He also served as a board observer on Fortress' behalf for Mixhalo, Inc., a technology company providing real-time sound for concerts and sporting events and real-time translation through users' phones.

Ivan and his wife have five children and are actively involved in all of their activities, from sports to the arts and beyond.
